FIVE generations of a Kidderminster family gathered for a special celebration following the safe arrival of a new addition to their clan.

Weighing in at 6lbs 3oz, Alfie Parmenter was welcomed by parents, grandparents, great grandparents and great grandparents, Pearl, 87 and 84-year-old Donald Spittle.

Proud mum, 20-year-old former child care assistant, Ellen Parmenter, said her maternal great grandparents, of Somerset Drive, had been thrilled to hold baby Alfie.

She and partner, Scott Badger, a 20-year-old plumber, are settling into their new role as parents at their home in Millfield Gardens.

Her mum, Tena Parmenter, 39, is close at hand, living round the corner in Mill Lane, while Alfie's great grandparents, Esme, 63 and Gordon Parmenter, 65, are not far away, in Willowfield Drive, Marlpool.

"They are all very happy that we've made it to five generations," said Ms Parmenter, whose younger sister, Zailee, 13, was recently crowned Kidderminster Carnival Princess.
