PEOPLE with a passion for art will be flocking to Bewdley Museum for its open studios event next month.

More than 60 artists will be taking part and a variety of workshops will be run by the museum by local artists.

John Instance will show his watercolour paintings in Jubilee Gardens and Judy Knight will present an exhibition on the principles of garden design next Saturday, June 7.

Visitors to the museum the following day can learn the art of tapestry with Sophie Hedderwick, who trained at Melbourne University.

Sophie, who has run workshops for the Birmingham Community Arts Festival, has exhibited her work in New York, London and Midlands galleries.

Artist, Roslyn Zalin, will exhibit batik paintings on Saturday, June 21.

Meanwhile, James Hall is set to hold a Painting Reflections gouache and watercolour exhibition the following day, while an art in the forest show will be exhibited by Claire Spencer, at Uncllys Farm, Wyre Forest.

On June 14 and 15, art enthusiasts can visit a variety of artists in their Bewdley studios, all within walking distance of the museum.

Equipped with a map to find their way around, those who take part can meet and talk to the artists and see many methods of working with different media.

The work will be on view at 22 venues in Bewdley.

Places on the workshops are limited and people are advised to book before attending.

The workshops will take place during the museum's opening hours of 10am until 4.30pm.

For more information about the workshop and to book places, contact 01299 403573 or 01299 40047.
