AN author from Bewdley has secured a major deal with a US company.

Robert Ronsson has sold 7,000 copies of Olympic Mind Games to American company, Mutual of Omaha.

The self-published book is a teenage adventure story that takes place in the London Olympic village in 2012.

When UK sales are taken into account, Mr Ronsson has sold nearly 9,000 copies of his book.

The American deal was set up by an ex-colleague of his who saw an opportunity when she joined the US company’s marketing team.

Mr Ronsson said: “I was thrilled when my friend, Kathy Curtis, told me about the possibility of her company buying the book.”

UK sales of the book were boosted by the publicity generated when the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games tried to prevent the use of the word ‘Olympic’ in the title.
