AN AWARD-winning tattooist will showcase her work at Kidderminster Arts Festival.
Mandie Barber, owner of True Love Tattoos, in Kidderminster, will display her paintings and tattoo artwork in an exhibition called Under My Skin.
The exhibition is currently open at Kidderminster Library gallery and runs until August 30.
On Friday, August 22, from 7pm to 10pm, Mandie will hold a session to demonstrate how tattoos are created, using some of her regular clients.
She is also encouraging visitors to take part in another two events by letting her photograph their tattoos and by telling her any stories attached to them.
Those sessions will take place this Saturday from 2pm to 4pm, and on Wednesday, August 27.
She explained: “We hope to create a unique record of local people’s own very personal tattoo art.”
Mandie has also offered an hour of her services and a consultation as a raffle prize, to raise money for Noah’s Ark Trust. The trust is a Midlands charity that provides support to children, young people and their families who have experienced bereavement.
Mandie said she was inspired by a client who had done some fund-raising for the trust and came to her for a tattoo.
Their conversation led to Mandie donating her fee for the work she had done.
The evening demonstration session is ticket only. To book, call 01562 732984.
