A GENEROUS Kidderminster musician is donating profits from his debut CD to the Water Aid charity.

Russ Jones, who works for the Environment Agency, an organisation that supports the charity, has collaborated with his partner, Debbie Dale, to produce the album, Love’s in Season.

He explained: “I’ve been playing music all my life and I’ve been in a number of bands since the early 1990s.

“I hadn’t played much the last few years, though, but when Debbie and I got together three years ago I had a few unfinished songs knocking about. She liked the songs so we set about finishing them and writing the words.”

Debbie has also designed the album’s artwork, which includes sketches and photographs. Russ said the album had a variety of sounds but could generally be described as folk rock.

He added: “It’s soft, mellow and relaxing and expresses views on life, love and politics. There are some ballads, love songs and a couple of protest songs.”

Water Aid’s mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. Russ said he hoped the album “would raise a great deal of funds for a very worthwhile charity”.
