CLASSIC Northern Soul tunes will ring out at Kidderminster’s Glades Leisure Centre this weekend.

Music enthusiasts can step back in time at Saturday’s bash as four DJs play dance floor fillers. Guest on the night will be John Barker. He plays at all the major soul weekenders in the UK and guests every year at Tenerife’s Northern Soul gathering, Soul in the Sun.

Terry Thomas, co-organiser of the event, said: “John is never known to play music to an empty dance floor and will prove popular with dancers of all ages.”

Mr Thomas, who is the owner of Mr Tee Records in Blackwell Street, will also D-jing on the night under the name of Francis Tee.

He is originally from Manchester but moved to Kidderminster in the 70s and has been involved in the Northern Soul djing scene at Wyre Forest club, The Nautical William.

Also spinning the decks will be Steve Russell, former DJ at Wigan Casino and Basil.
