WYRE Forest Symphony Orchestra will entertain classical music fans in a concert at Kidderminster Town Hall this weekend.

The 50-strong orchestra will perform works by Elgar, Mozart, Butterworth and Borodin at Saturday’s event.

Chris Page, the orchestra’s concert manager and publicity officer, said: “People will know all of the tunes that will be performed. There will be nothing that’s hard to listen to. The night will be filled with lovely melodies.

“The concert will be a summer symphony. It will be music for a summer evening that everyone will be able to appreciate.”

He added that he was pleased to welcome back Jenifer Smith, who was forced to pull out of a concert in April due to illness.

“It’s good to have Jenifer back and she’s fine now,” he said.

He added that the highlight of the evening will be Borodin’s Polovstian Dances from Prince Igor.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets can be obtained from the Town Hall on 01562 732158 or at the venue on the night. For information, e-mail chrisjpage@btinternet.com
