A NIGHT of Northern Soul nostalgia will be held in Wolverley next weekend.

On Saturday, August 16, Wolverley Memorial Hall will stage its third northern soul night.

The first event was held in May, last year, and organiser, Shaun Parker, said it has “gone from strength to strength”.

Shaun will play classic Northern Soul tunes from the heady days of Wigan Casino with fellow DJs, Colin and Keith, and there will be plenty of room to ‘throw shapes’ on the hall’s large wooden, sprung dancefloor.

Shaun said: “Based on the first two events we are expecting a large turnout and a terrific atmosphere.

“Consequently, it would be advisable to get there early and bring your talcum powder and dancing shoes with you.

“These nights really help generate some much-needed funds for Wolverley Social Club and everyone has a great time, too.”

Doors open at 8pm and the music continues through to 1.30am. Admission is on the door on the night.
