MORE than 50 members of hospital staff from across Worcestershire have been invited to a long service award ceremony at Kidderminster Hospital’s Education Centre on Monday.

Members of the trust board will be present to thank staff from the Kidderminster, Alexandra and Worcestershire Royal Hospitals, who have completed 25 years of service or more with the trust or its predecessor organisations.

Chairman, Michael O’Riordan said: “This is the fifth award ceremony recognising the loyalty and dedication of our longest serving members of staff, who have played important roles in healthcare in the NHS locally.

“It is timely that the awards coincide with the 60th birthday of the NHS and give us an opportunity to reflect on the care and caring that has been the cornerstone of the NHS during this period.

“We want to thank the awardees for their commitment and show our appreciation for their contribution to current patient care in Worcestershire.

“Everyone plays a part, whether as a clinician, nurse, porter, clinic receptionist, medical records clerk or housekeeper.

“We want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the long service given, in some cases over 36 years.”
