STOURPORT Carnival organisers are calling on the whole community to either enter floats or join the spectacle’s parade as walkers.

Pete Roberts, carnival committee member, said they already had 11 floats signed up for the carnival, on Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7, but they wanted as many entrants as possible.

He said: “There is no theme - you can do anything you want to do. We have a good number of floats so far but the more the merrier.

“Vintage vehicles, motorbikes, tractors - you name it - enter now. Anything or anyone can join in.”

Stourport Town Council has also organised a shop window competition open to any store in Bridge Street, High Street, Lombard Street, York Street and New Street.

The prize is £100 and all shops are encouraged to either take part or decorate their premises with balloons and bunting.

The carnival programme is now available in all High Street shops. It costs £1 and there is a lucky number in one programme, worth £250.

For more information, visit Petes Prints in Bridge Street or contact Mr Roberts on 01299 826930.
