X Factor contestant hits the right notes

A NOTE-perfect Kidderminster woman has reached the ‘boot camp’ stage of X Factor.

Natalie Davies, 24, who works for Kemp Hospice, was part of all-girl band Chaos, that got past the auditions on last Saturday night’s show.

Their performances of Chasing Cars, by Snow Patrol and When You Look At Me, by Christina Milian impressed judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue, who unanimously voted to put the band through to the next round.

“It was an amazing experience and so much fun,” Miss Davies said, “The judges were all really nice and it was lovely meeting them.

“It was so nerve-wracking performing with them sitting there staring at us. As we started to sing, they started to smile, though, so I knew they must have thought we were pretty good.

“They left a long pause after we finished before they gave their feedback, which was so tense, but thankfully it was all good.”

For Miss Davies, this is the next stage of a journey that began when she entered last year’s X Factor competition with current bandmate Gemma Higgins.

She said: “Me and Gemma were in another band last year but, unfortunately, we didn’t make it past the early auditions.”

She explained they met Maria Theodoulou and Androulla Frangeskou, their other bandmates in Chaos, at last year’s auditions, as they were also in a girl group together. .

She went on: “We kept in contact after the auditions and became friends. We all decided to get together and form a new group for this year’s competition and that’s how Chaos came about.

“It all seems to have worked really well. Even if we don’t make it any further, we want to stick together and keep trying.”
