A TRADITIONAL village fete is being held in Shrawley this weekend.

The long-running event will take place at Church Farm, off the B4196 Holt Heath to Stourport road, on Saturday, from 1pm.

There will be a fun dog show, with awards for the most handsome, prettiest and best conditioned dogs and those with most appealing eyes. Registration for the competition begins at 1pm and the show will start at about 2.30pm Thirsty visitors will be able to enjoy afternoon tea in the marquee or sample a pint of real ale, brewed near Ombersley, from the licensed bar. A pig roast and barbecue will be cooking all afternoon for anybody that gets hungry.

Other attractions include home-made cakes and preserves, local produce and games of skill, such as the coconut shy, wellie wanging, table skittles and milk the cow.

A collection of classic cars and motorbikes will also be on display.

All proceeds will go to causes in and around the village, including the village hall and St Mary’s Church Restoration Fund.
