KEMP Hospice recently held its annual volunteer thank you party, which is an opportunity for staff at the Hospice to thank those volunteers who work so hard for the charity. During the party volunteers were recognised for their service, with special awards going to those who have been volunteering for 5,10 and 15 years.

KEMP Hospice decided to hold the afternoon thank you party during National Volunteer week, which is a celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place during the first week of June each year. It plays a huge part in raising the profile of England’s 22 million volunteers while encouraging others to get involved.

Volunteer Services Co-ordinator at the Hospice, Natalie Davies said 'It's so great to see volunteers from different voluntary roles at KEMP getting together and celebrating being a volunteer, I'm so grateful to them all.

Marie O'Brien, a volunteer at the Hospice received her 10 year Long Service Certificate. Marie has helped in numerous roles over the years, such as Day Care, the craft team and Fundraising as well as her main volunteer role as part of the Bereavement Counseling team. Marie said 'I have felt privileged working with people at KEMP for the past 10 years and I would encourage everybody to do volunteer work and particularly at KEMP Hospice, it is very rewarding.'
