GARDENING CLUB – At the July meeting speaker Dr Murray Mylechrist, gave a talk on ‘sugar ‘n’ spice, all things nice, plants used by people,’ a talk and slide show on how plants have different values in different parts of the world.

WI – President Jeanne Round welcomed 33 members to the July meeting. A team will be entered for the skittles tournament.

WI – President Jeanne Round reported that the evening visit to link institute Wychbury had been successful. The meeting was then handed over to Mrs Pam Watson and Yolanda Briggs for the members’ evening.

GARDENERS CLUB – Celia Davis was the speaker at the May meeting. Celia is a well-known beekeeper but also has a comprehensive knowledge of all garden insects. Her talk and slideshow taught members how to identify many of the bugs and insects found in gardens.

DISTRICT GARDENING CLUB - On March 26 the club hosted its spring show and inter-club quiz. There was an excellent turnout. Show winners were third Dorothy Twyman, second Anna Whymant and first Marion Wilson. Marion's entries also won the best exhibit and highly recommended categories.
