A look at the latest releases.Slim pickings this week, unfortunately, but then summer was always about going to see bands at festivals, rather than actually buying their records. Standing out like a diamond in the rough are Late Of The Pier and The Script, whose debuts are released this week. But as D:Ream once sang, things can only get better. Let's hope so.

The Script are a trio from Dublin, Ireland, whose R&B-tinged pop is currently all over the radio. We talk to singer Danny O'Donaghue about their debut album The Script, which is released on Monday August 4, and how he and bandmate Mark ended up working in a recording studio with the likes of Dallas Austin and Pharrell Williams.
